Biography

Ken Buchanan became Town Manager of the Town of Fountain Hills in March of 2012.  He is a native Pinal County resident, born in Casa Grande and raised in Eloy.  Ken has held numerous positions throughout his 36 years of public service including appointments as the Parks & Recreation Director and later Assistant to the City Manager for the City of Eloy (1975-83); Town Manager for the Town of  Florence (1983-91); Town Manager for the Town of Payson (1991-95); City Manager of Casa Grande (1995-2004); and Assistant County Manager for Pinal County (2004-2012).

Mr. Buchanan holds degrees from Arizona State University (Bachelor of Science in Recreation Management and Master of Public Administration).  Mr. Buchanan holds a certificate from the Senior Executive Program of the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.  He is a 35-year member of the International City/County Management Association.
