Home Delivered Meals

Home Delivered Meals Volunteers Ted and Ruth Sherick and Sean and Leslie Parkes.
Purpose
To provide nutritional noon time meals for individuals of all ages living in Fountain Hills who require meal assistance. The support of this program allows individuals to reside as long as possible in the comfort of their own home or while recovering from an illness.
About the Home Delivered Meals Program
Meals are provided by Fountain View Village for a fee of $6.50 per meal. Noon time meals are delivered 7 days a week including all major holidays. Clients request the days they wish to receive meals. Some may desire daily deliveries whereas others may wish to receive meals on alternate days. Clients who are unable to self-pay may qualify for assistance through Area Agency on Aging or Senior Services of Fountain Hills, Inc.
Meals
Each meal consists of a hot entrée provided in a three compartment aluminum container as well as a cold sack consisting of a salad, juice & milk, fruit and dessert. Special meals are also available for diabetic, renal, vegetarian, mechanical and pureed diets.
New Clients
Anyone interested in having a meal delivered, whether it be a spouse, a parent, a friend or yourself, is encouraged to contact the Senior Activity Center at 480-816-5226, Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Messages are not retrieved after 4:00 p.m. or on weekends.
Volunteer Opportunities
All meals are delivered by volunteers. The town is divided into two zones with two volunteers for each area delivering meals. Each team delivers only once per month with substitute teams available when regular teams are unavailable. Volunteers pick up the meals at Fountain View Village between 10:45 and 11:00 a.m. Delivery time frame is approximately 1 to 1½ hours. For individuals or couples who have time to volunteer for this rewarding experience, please contact the Senior Activity Center 480-816-5226.
