Activity Center for Seniors and Boomers


The Activity Center for Seniors and Boomers provides hundreds of opportunities each year for seniors to prove that age is only a number. The number of citizens who become members each year is growing. Membership for the Activity Center, effective October 1, 2009, is $12 and is valid through December 31, 2010. Membership provides discounts on many activities and trips. Membership is not limited to “seniors.” All adults are eligible for membership;the Activity Center currently has over 1100 members!

There are many programs to participate in. The center offers educational classes throughout the year at a minimal cost. We also organize a variety of theater trips, day trips, casino trips and overnight trips offered at a reasonable price. For those in need of medical equipment, the center coordinates a free Medical Equipment Loan Program for items like wheelchairs, canes, crutches and walkers. Donations of wheelchairs are needed.

The Activity Center encourages seniors and boomers to take part in these activities and programs and, where possible, to become one of the many valued volunteers. The fact that the Activity Center has nearly 300 volunteers is just one indicator that the center is a busy place. The Activity Center is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday - Friday.
