The Town of Fountain Hills Planning and Zoning Commission is made up of seven members that are appointed by the Town Council for two-year terms. At their regular meetings Commissioners discuss, propose or take legal action with respect to zoning issues and related applicantions. The Commissioner’s authority is found in State Law, Town Code, Zoning Ordinance, and the Commission's Rules of Parliamentary Procedure.
To be a member of the Town of Fountain Hills Planning and Zoning Commission, one should have experience or knowledge in one or more of the following fields:
- Real Estate
- Land Use Planning
- Land Development
- Law
- Architecture
- Landscape Architecture
- Civil Engineering
- Traffic Engineering
- Environmental Engineering
- Geography
- Past experience on city/town Council
- Position on HOA Board
- Economics
- Public Administration
- Geology
- Hydrology
- Land Surveying
- Communications and Public Relations
Commissioners are unpaid volunteers that work under a Code of Ethics that ensures the quality of the Town Government through the practice of ethical principles that govern conduct.
