Supervisor of Recreation: Bryan Hughes

Bryan Hughes

Bryan Hughes joined the Fountain Hills Parks and Recreation Department in 1995 as a Recreation Program Coordinator to implement Youth and Adult Sports programs for the Town. As the first Sports Coordinator, he initiated many of the youth and adult sports programs that are still offered today. In 1998, Hughes was assigned to manage Adult Special Interest Programs and Special Events and continued in that capacity until becoming Supervisor of Recreation in 2000.

Hughes is a member of both the National Recreation and Parks Association and the Arizona Parks and Recreation Association. An active APRA member, Hughes was elected the Sports and Aquatics Branch Chair and served on the APRA Board of Directors in 1999.

Raised in the Chicago suburbs, Hughes graduated from Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, Illinois in 1994 and received a degree in Recreation Administration. He held positions with EIU Campus Recreation and the Charleston Playground and Recreation Department until relocating to Arizona in 1994.
