Pickleball
The Town of Fountain Hills Parks and Recreation has partnered with local Pickleball enthusiasts to host Adult Open Co-ed Pickleball. Pickleball is a combination of Ping-Pong, tennis and badminton. In the oddly named sport, singles or double teams hit a wiffleball over a low net with wooden or composite paddles. Pickleball is a great way to meet new people and play a game that is right for a variety of skill levels as well as it’s open to all ages.
The Town of Fountain Hills Parks and Recreation Department provides the paddles and wiffleballs but players are encouraged to bring their own. Interested participants are encouraged to “drop-in” onsite during normally scheduled days and times or can contact Recreation Coordinator, Anjelica Giardino at 480-816-5132 or agiardino@fh.az.gov for further information. Pickleball is a fun, easy sport to learn! Come join the excitement!
Schedule:
This is a suggested schedule for fall (beginning Sept. 2) based on input from the players and weighing in factors of heat, consideration of work schedules, lighting etc.
For September and October:
Tuesday and Thursday at 7 p.m.
Saturday at 8 a.m.
For November and December
Tuesday and Thursday at 3 p.m.
Saturday at 9 a.m.
For Newcomers to the game, introduction to and teaching the game will be held on the first Wednesday of the month.
September and October at 7 p.m.
November and December at 4 p.m.
Location: Palisades Courts off of Golden Eagle Blvd near High School (the cage).
