Mark Mayer joined the Town of Fountain Hills’ staff September 2001, after serving for almost seven years as the Director of the Inver Grove Heights Parks and Recreation Department in Minnesota.
Mayer earned his Bachelor’s Degree at Southern Illinois University and his Master’s Degree at the University of Wyoming; both degrees are in Park and Recreation Administration.
Previous to his work in the Minneapolis area he had tenures in Minnesota, Wyoming and Indiana, all as a director. Mark has also served previously on various state park and recreation association boards in a variety of roles including a recent term as president in Minnesota.
In the fall of 2009, Mark will celebrate 30 years experience as a director and eight years with Fountain Hills.
