Fountain Hills Rural-Metro Fire Department Helps Businesses Check Safety Mechanisms
Jan 02, 2009
(Fountain Hills) - Fountain Hills Rural-Metro Fire Department is reaching out to businesses around town in a proactive effort to prevent fires. The department will be conducting Safety Surveys to assist businesses with becoming fire code compliant. This involves checking for blocked exit pathways and/or other hazardous conditions and ensuring that the appropriate safety systems are in place and have been properly maintained.
“Eighty percent of businesses do not re-open after a fire,” said Fire Chief Scott LaGreca. “Usually the damage is too significant and we want to do our part to help Fountain Hills businesses protect themselves from this type of loss.”
