Maricopa County Community College District

Maricopa County Community College District

The Maricopa County Community College District (MCCD) is comprised of ten colleges, two skill centers and numerous education centers serving nearly three million Maricopa County residents since 1962.  The District is dedicated to educational excellence, meeting the needs of businesses and the citizens of Maricopa County.  Each college is individually accredited, yet part of a larger system, MCCD.

MCCD is one of the largest higher education systems in the world and the largest provider of health care workers and job training in Arizona, a major source for business and industry and for individuals seeking education and job training.

Scottsdale Community College

Fountain Hills is one of the five communities that are served by Scottsdale Community College.

The College offers over 1,700 credit classes each semester taught by 170 full time faculty and over 450 adjunct faculty. At SCC, 27% of the faculty hold doctoral degrees, 65% have earned master’s degrees, and all occupational faculty have met strict educational and professional requirements. In addition, nearly 250 staff and administrators round out the SCC family.

SCC provides an extensive number of academically focused disciplines as well as occupational programs relevant to our community. SCC is located within fifteen miles of the main campus of Arizona State University, and many SCC students enroll in traditional freshman-level courses with the intention of transferring to ASU.
