The Town of Fountain Hills is mindful of the need to provide its citizens with the resources to properly dispose of Household Hazardous Waste (HHW). With the current budget cuts at the state and local levels, the Town of Fountain Hills does not have the ability to provide its citizens with a coordinated household hazardous waste collection event. We would like to offer some alternatives for you to properly dispose of your HHW.
Old latex paint can be dried out in the can and then disposed of in your regular garbage. Ace Hardware also has an additive you can put in you paint to help dry it out faster.
Your compact fluorescent light bulbs, which contain mercury, can be dropped off at the local Ace Hardware store for proper disposal at no cost. They will also take in your unwanted propane tanks for free.
Our local Checker Auto Parts store located on Shea Blvd., will take in old motor oil, transmission fluid, hydraulic fluid and car batteries at no cost.
Mike’s Automotive on Panorama Drive will take in old automotive coolant/antifreeze at no cost.
We would like to thank these local businesses for their continued support in helping keep our environment safe.
