Chief Scott LaGreca of Fountain Hills Rural/Metro is originally from Chicago and has been a Fountain Hills resident for the past thirteen years. He holds a Bachelors Degree in Technical Careers from Southern Illinois University and a Masters Degree in Technology and Applied Science from Arizona State University.
Chief LaGreca began his fire service career as a member of the Chicago Fire Department in 1971. He held the positions of Firefighter, Lieutenant, Captain, Battalion Chief, Director of Media Affairs, and Assistant to the Deputy Fire Commissioner of Fire Suppression and Rescue while in the City of Chicago. Chief LaGreca left the Chicago Fire Department in 1996 to become the Assistant Chief / Fire Marshal for the Fountain Hills Rural/Metro Fire Department. While with Rural/Metro he has held the positions of Fountain Hills Assistant Chief/ Fire Marshal, Assistant Chief of Maricopa County/Scottsdale Fire Operations, and currently Fountain Hills Rural/Metro Fire Chief.
Chief LaGreca graduated from the Executive Fire Officers' Program at the National Fire Academy in 1987 and in 2003 was designated by the Commission on Chief Fire Officer Designation as a "Chief Fire Officer."
