East Valley Institute of Technology
Upheld as a model for career and technical education by the U.S. Department of Education, The East Valley Institute of Technology (EVIT) provides students with the advanced skills and training needed to thrive in today’s competitive job market.
EVIT adds to a student’s academic instruction by providing hands-on learning from experienced professionals and utilizing excellent resources. By allowing students to earn elective credit in 35 occupation-specific programs, EVIT enhances the future of every type of student.
EVIT is a public school district that serves students from ten East Valley school districts. High school students from Apache Junction, Chandler, Fountain Hills, Gilbert, Mesa, Queen Creek, Scottsdale, Tempe, Higley, and J.O. Combs spend part of their day at EVIT and the rest at their sending high school. Because EVIT is a public school, all 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students meeting class prerequisites can attend free of charge.
The EVIT VOC Center in Fountain Hills offers instruction in skilled trades such as mechanics, carpentry, plumbing, and construction in order to provide practical experience and job training.
