Solve-It!

Disputes will happen, regardless if it’s with a neighbor, the Homeowners Association or landlord. The Town of Fountain Hills has put in place a more peaceful way to solve disputes – Solve-It! The purpose of this mediation program is to solve disputes and, ultimately, preventing judicial rulings and involvement of any law enforcement officials.

Additionally, Solve-It! is a low-cost alternative to lawyers and court fees. Should a mediator be required, both parties will be required to pay a $25 non-refundable case development fee.

Common concerns that have been resolved include: property line disputes, barking and fence boundaries.

Currently, five mediators are needed. In order to become a mediator, individuals must fill out an application and submit to the Leadership Centre.

All mediators are volunteers who have undergone 40 hours of mediation training through the Chandler-Gilbert Community College. The Town of Fountain Hills and Leadership Centre will provide schooling for all mediators.

Solve-It! is a partnership between the TFH and with the Leadership Centre. Other municipalities that have implemented this program include Apache Junction, Casa Grande, Chandler, Gilbert, Mesa and Queen Creek.
