No other sheriff's office in the United States today has a volunteer posse of 3200 men and women, people from the community who spend their time, and money to train to be volunteers, helping to keep the county free from crime.

Furthermore, Sheriff Arpaio has a philosophy of zero tolerance towards the criminal element, which has been embraced by deputies and the community alike.

The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office is a fully integrated law enforcement agency committed to being the leader in establishing the standards for providing professional quality law enforcement, detention, and support services to the citizens of Maricopa County and to other criminal justice agencies.

There are 26 full time deputies assigned to Fountain Hills area. These full time deputies are assigned in the area of patrol, detectives, and community services. The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office law enforcement philosophy, is based on creating a safe and secure environment for our residents.

The full time deputies assigned to Fountain Hills are under the command of Captain John Kleinheinz. Captain Kleinheinz brings over 18 years of service and law enforcement knowledge to Fountain Hills. He also has a passion for excellence and professionalism and is able to convey that to each and every member of his staff.

The Fountain Hills district and those that are assigned to the town continue to serve as a role model within the Sheriff's Office not only by understanding the vision of the Sheriff's Office and the needs set forth by the Town of Fountain Hills but exceeding the expectations of all.
