Keith
McMahan moved to Arizona in 1971 as an advertising writer
with Lorne Pratt Enterprises, Inc., the ad agency for
McCulloch Properties. Two years later, in 1973, he moved to
Fountain Hills to work on all phases of advertising and
promotion when McCulloch advertised free flights in
newspapers all over the country to come to Fountain Hills
with its world famous fountain. He continued working for
them until 1991 when he formed his own company, McMahan and
Company Advertising Agency, offering advertising, press
releases, newsletters and events production to local
clients.
Keith has been actively involved in community projects and
organizations since he came to Fountain Hills. He was the
advertising and tourism chairman for the Chamber of Commerce for
nine years as well as serving on their Board of Directors for
three years. The 2004 Chamber of Commerce sponsored Fountain
Festival will be the 30th fair on which he has worked, for 16
years as a volunteer. In 1997, the C of C honored him as the
"Business Person of the Year".
He served as an elected member of the Fountain Hills School
Board from 1986 to 1990. For nine years, he was on the Road
District Joint Powers Board; chairman in 1978. He is presently a
contributing member of several organizations: the Fountain Hills
Civic Association, President of the Fountain Hills Republican Club, and the
Fountain Hills Historical Society Board of Directors.
